Anthony McGill (snooker player)

Anthony McGill ( born February 5, 1991, Glasgow ) is a Scottish snooker player.

Career

After several national and international championships in the youth field in 2010 McGill professional on the Snooker Main Tour. He had been on the Pontin's International Open Series, where he finished fourth in the overall standings after eight tournaments qualify.

On the professional tour, he was quickly recorded notable successes. So he made it the PTC tournament number 2 in Sheffield to the quarterfinals. At the World Open in 2010 he reached the round of 32 and failed there to compatriot Alan McManus. Also in other tournaments he won games regularly so that he meanwhile rose to number 55 in the world rankings. At the end of the season he was 59 the second best debutant with space and thus defended his place on the tour.

The Scottish Open 2012, a tournament of the PTC Series 2012/13, McGill reached for the first time the finals of a professional tournament, but it lost to Ding Junhui 2:4. In the PTC Grand Finals in March 2013, the first jump succeeded the last sixteen of a full ranking tournament.
