Anthony St John, 22nd Baron St John of Bletso

Anthony St John, 22nd Baron St John of Bletso ( born May 16, 1957) is a British peer and businessman. He is known as Cross Bencher member of the House of Lords.

He is the son of Andrew St John, 21st Baron St John of Bletso. When his father died he inherited the title in 1978, including the related seat in the House of Lords. He belonged in 1999 to the 92 Erbadligen who were allowed to retain their seat in the House of Lords under the House of Lords Act 1999.

During his studies, he reached the following degrees: Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science at the University of Cape Town, Bachelor of Law at the University of South Africa and a Master of Law at the London School of Economics.

Between 1985 and 2002 he worked as an oil analyst at County NatWest Securities and Smith New Court Plc and then served until 2008 as a consultant Merrill Lynch. He built the Internet Data Center business Globix Corporation in the United Kingdom and was then President of Global Sales and Marketing for the International Group. Between 2004 and 2012 he was Non-Executive Chairman of the Spiritel Plc, a provider of telecommunications services, and served as a Non -Executive Director of Regal Petroleum, Sharp Interpak, WMRC and Pecaso. He was also on the advisory board of Infinity SDC Chayton Capital and Ariya Capital with a focus on agriculture and business opportunities in Africa. He is currently Chairman of Estate & General and Strategic Adviser at 2e2 and Non-Executive Director at Albion Ventures LLP and Chairman of the Governing Board for Certification International.

His special interest is in the political foreign policy, especially with regard to Africa, clean technologies, species protection and sport. He is involved in the nonprofit sector, in particular as a trustee of seven charities primarily focused on Africa.

He is married to Helen Westlake, a former Miss England and a doctor of medicine. With her he has four children.
