Biography

Kushnir debuted on 11 January 2004 at the World Cup, and reached here in Mont Tremblant the 24th Place. Due to injury, he had almost the entire 2004/05 season sidelined and could only end of March 2005 to take part in the national championships. The World Cup season 2005/ 06 he finished with three placings in the top ten, including a fifth place as best result. At the 2006 Winter Olympics he finished eighth. Maximum unbalanced was the World Cup season 2006/07. On January 12, 2007 Kuschnir jumped in Deer Valley to second place and achieved his first podium finish, but otherwise he was no more than 15 square.

The breakthrough to the world class managed Kushnir in the 2007/ 08 season, with three second places and the first World Cup victory on 17 February 2008 in Inawashiro. In the following season 2008/ 09 he could not quite maintain this level; it resulted in a second place finish in a World Cup competition and the 6th place at the 2009 World Championships in Inawashiro. Far more successful Kushnir was in season 2009/10: With four wins, a second and a third place he decided to leave the discipline rating for themselves, just as the World Cup. Because of its dominance, he was considered a favorite for the Olympic title, but could not withstand the pressure and already retired from the Qualfikationsdurchgang.

In the 2010/11 season Kushnir won three more World Cup victories and a third place. At the 2011 World Championships in Deer Valley, he won the bronze medal. After a third place he was succeeded in the World Cup season 2011/12, he entered the 2012/13 season not at the World Cup. In 2014 he made his comeback and won the World Cup in Deer Valley. The greatest success of his career, he celebrated at the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014 by winning the gold medal.
