Antonín Hájek

Antonín Hájek (born 12 February 1987 in Frýdlant v Čechách ) is a Czech ski jumper. With its very good flight feeling he achieved top rankings especially in ski flying.

Career

Hájek grew up in Harrachov, where he was already five years old learned to ski jumping. His coach is Jakub Jiroutek. He coached the club from Liberec and is in the squad of the Czech A- Team.

In the Four Hills Tournament, he made ​​it so far once, to finish in the top 30. At the 2006 Winter Olympics, he could not attend because he had a week earlier suffered a hernia. In the following summer season, he jumped among other twice in Hakuba (Japan) on the podium and won on July 29, 2006 in Oberstdorf his first Continental Cup competitions. In the winter season 2006/2007 he reached after several Top 20 finishes at the Nordic Tournament in Lahti the 6th Place.

In early April 2008, he suffered a serious car accident. He suffered numerous internal injuries and could only be saved by emergency surgery. Then he had to pause with the jump training a few months. His first appearance in the World Cup after the accident was in the qualifier for the ski flying event at Kulm in Tauplitz, in which he marked the longest jump on 8 January 2010. Then he reached his best World Cup result bisherig and ended on 9 January, the ski flying with a 4th place. This power he was able to repeat a week later in Sapporo.

At the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010 he reached the 21th place in jumping on the normal hill.

In the Ski Flying World Championships 2010 in Planica Hajek reached in individual flies the 8th Place and reached 236 m up to then third largest ever seasoned width. In the Czech Championships on the large hill in 2012, which were held on September 2 in the Polish Wisła, he was able to win its first national championship.

After changing results in the Continental Hájek jumped in December, 2012 in Engelberg again in the World Cup, but missed doing the points clearly. Even when he again received the nomination at the ski flying in Vikersund another good Continental Cup standings, he was unsuccessful. Only four days later in Harrachov him a points success was achieved after three years in the World Cup. With positions 29 and 17, he was able to convince it, so he again started in ski flying in Oberstdorf and a few days later. Again he reached the 13th place in the individual and the seventh place in the team surprisingly good results. In Continental he missed in Vikersund with two fifth places the podium ranks in March 2013 just barely.
