Antonio Staglianò

Antonio Stagliano ( born June 14, 1959 in Isola di Capo Rizzuto, Crotone, Italy Province) is a bishop of Noto.

Life

After graduating from the State School in Reggio Calabria in 1977, Antonio Stagliano studied at the seminaries of Saronno and Venegono Inferiore Catholic theology and philosophy and graduated in 1982 at the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy in Milan with the Bachelor of Theology from. Then he entered the Pontifical Lombard Seminary in Rome and studied at the Pontifical Gregorian University postgraduate studies in fundamental theology, where in 1984 he earned a licentiate in theology and in 1986 Dr. theol. received his doctorate.

On October 20, 1984 Antonio Stagliano received by the Archbishop of Santa Severina and Bishop of Crotone, Giuseppe Agostino, the sacrament of Holy Orders and was incardinated in the clergy of the diocese of Crotone. After completing his doctorate, he worked in Crotone in counseling and worked from 1986 to 1990 as assistant priest in the parish of San Dionigi from 1990 to 1992 as assistant priest in the parish of Santa Rita. He was also a member of the Council of the Italian Theological Association ( Associazione italiana Teológica ).

In 1994 he was a member of the Priests of the Archdiocese, canon, Episcopal Vicar for Culture and rector of the diocesan office culture. Furthermore, he was from 1994 to 2002 on various courses on topics of fundamental theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University and was from 1990 to 2005 also professor of fundamental theology at the Institute of Religious Studies ( Istituto di Scienze Religious all'Apollinare ), the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross. In 1995 he received his doctorate at the University of Calabria in addition to the Dr. phil. and was appointed by the Italian Episcopal Conference for theological adviser for cultural affairs in 1997. In 1999 Stagliano pastor in Le Castella.

He became director of the Theological Institute Calabria ( Istituto Teologico Calabro ) and professor of Christology, Trinitarian theology and pastoral theology in 2002.

For the XI. General Meeting of the Synod of Bishops from 2 to October 23, 2005 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him. to Adiutor Secretarii specialis ( assistant to the Synod Secretary ).

On 22 January 2009 he was named Benedict XVI. Bishop of Noto. He received his episcopal consecration on March 19 of the same year the former Cardinal Vicar Camillo Cardinal Ruini.
