Anubis Gate

Anubis Gate is a Danish progressive- and power metal band from Aalborg, founded in 2001.

History

The band was formed in 2001 by Jesper M. Jensen, who played bass, electric guitar and the keyboard, and drummer Morten Sørensen founded. Short time later, singer Torben Askholm the band. Together, they recorded their debut album called Purification, bassist Henrik Fevre being still and guitarist and keyboardist Kim Olesen joined the band. The album was produced by Jacob Hansen and came to the attention of Locomotive Records, with the band reached an agreement.

The second album A Perfect Forever was released in September 2005. The album was again produced by Jacob Hansen. In the fall Askholm singer had struggled with vocal problems, which bassist Fevre additionally took over the singing part. In 2006, Jacob Hansen joined the band in as the new singer. Then they started work the next album called Andromeda Unchained, which was published in 2007. The album was again produced by Jacob Hansen and Kim Olesen. The year 2008 the band spent with the writing of new material. The album The Detached was published on 30 March 2009 via Locomotive Records. The recorded music was produced by Jacob Hansen and Kim Olesen. In 2010, the band parted Locomotive Records. The rest of the year the band spent with the writing of new songs. As already almost all the songs were completed for a new album, vocalist and producer Jacob Hansen, the band. He was replaced by bassist Henrik Fevre. Demos were sent to various labels, so the band reached a deal with Nightmare Records in March 2011.

The album Anubis Gate was produced by Kim Olesen and Jacob Hansen and released in 2011 via Nightmare Records.

Style

In her biography gives the band groups such as Queensrÿche, Iron Maiden, Lord Bane, Tad Morose, Iced Earth, Crimson Glory, Fates Warning, King Crimson, Genesis and Savatage as their main influences. The band plays progressive power metal and is compared with other groups such as Dream Theater, Redemption, Subsignal and Arch / Matheos.
