Arabesque (group)

Arabesque is a German pop music group from the Euro - disco phase ( explicitly 1980s). The vocal trio celebrated especially in Japan successes. Almost all the songs the band were composed by Jean Frankfurter and produced. Michaela Rose is the only permanent member of the trio since its inception.

Arabesque, founded in 1977, was originally composed of the three singers Michaela Rose, Karen Ann Tepperis ( until 1978 ) and Mary Ann Nagel together (up to 1978). While Rose became a permanent member, Tepperis and nail in a phase of personnel reshuffles by Heike Rimbeau (1978-1979) and Elke Brück Heimer (only 1979) were replaced. During this time, Jasmin Elizabeth Vetter (1978-1984) and Sandra Ann Lauer occurred ( August 1978-1984 ) in the band, as long-time members at Rose -formed and with it formed the classic Arabesque cast.

After the dissolution of Arabesque, 1984, Vetter and Rose formed the group Rouge, during and Sandra Lauer started her solo career. After 22 -year break, the group was formed newly in December 2006. To the founding member Sabine Rose Kamper and Silke Brauner have formed. Since then, the trio sings especially on events in Russia and the territory of the former USSR.

Work

While Arabesque in Japan reached a great popularity and was very successful, the girl trio in Germany and elsewhere in Europe never achieved his great breakthrough, what, four appearances in the music store and three in Disco could not change.

The first single of the trio, Hello, Mr. Monkey (1977 ), was primarily in Japan, where it was published only in 1978 and 38 weeks at No. 1 in both the national as well as international singles chart finished, a huge success.

The single Marigot Bay ( 1981), which is the only of Arabesque in the German Top 10 came ( maximum placement was # 8) was the most successful hit single in Germany and Europe. Rose produced in 2008, this romantic song in a modern version - Marigot Bay 2008 ( Arabesque feat Michaela Rose. ). Rose, with her alto voice, singing about memories of a lost love on the beach of the Caribbean island of St. Lucia. This remix is only available in download portals.

A concert by Arabesque was published in Tokyo in 1982 as a live album titled Fancy Concert in April 2010. In addition, the CD includes a new recording of the song sung Japanese Sukiyaki Song by Arabesque feat. Michaela Rose from 2010 as a bonus track. All songs are also available as downloads.
