Arado Ar 198
The Arado Ar 198 was a German Arado Flugzeugwerke Naherkundungsflugzeug.
The Ar 198 was developed in the years 1937/38, as competition Blohm & Voss BV draft 141 The aircraft was a conventional cantilever shoulder -wing monoplane of all-metal construction. It was powered by a radial engine Bramo BMW 323 with 900 hp. A special feature represented the fully glazed fuselage floor and the generously glazed canopy, resulting in a very good all-round vision revealed. The crew consisted of three men: pilot, radio operator and observers. Because of the poor flight performance of the Arado Ar 198 in comparison to the BV 141 only a test sample (D - ODLG ) was built in 1938. After the end of testing this machine has been left to the Aviation Museum in Berlin.
