Arcadi Volodos

Arcadi Volodos (originally Russian Аркадий Аркадьевич Володось / Arkadi Arkadyevitch Wolodos, scientific transliteration Arkady Arkad'evič Volodos '; born February 24, 1972 in Leningrad ) is a Russian pianist.

Life

As a child of a singer first pair Volodos received singing and piano lessons until the age of eight. As a youth he devoted himself to conducting and directing the orchestra of the St. Petersburg Conservatory.

Only in 1987, at age 15, he decided to become a pianist and began his studies at the Moscow Conservatory with Galina Jegiasarowa and Dmitri Bashkirov. After concerts in Russia, he joined in 1991 as part of the New Names series in New York.

After graduating in 1993, he fled Moscow initially for one year the Paris Conservatoire and studied with Jacques Rouvier; then Dmitri Bashkirow the Madrid Academy of Music Reina Sofia.

After Volodos had successful concerts a few years, he succeeded in 1996 with the debut at the Wigmore Hall and in 1997 published by Thomas Frost Sony CD of piano transcriptions of the international break.
