Aristeion Prize

The Prix Aristeion was a 1990 award to 1999 European Prize for Literature. The prize was donated by the European Union in Brussels. It was a literary work each awarded 20,000 euros, "that makes a significant contribution to contemporary literature." In addition, "outstanding translations" of contemporary European literature were honored.

The prizes were awarded in the respective Capital of Culture.
