UBM Arkadia Traiskirchen Lions (UBM is an abbreviation for the name of tradition UKJ Basketball Club Möllersdorf, which in turn UKJ for Catholic Youth Union stands ) is a company incorporated in 1966 under the name UKJ Möllersdorf Austrian basketball team from Traiskirchen. History

1960s, 1970s

On 24 October 1966, the club was founded under the name UKJ Möllersdorf from Möller villages Pastor Friedrich Tscherney. From the outset Möllersdorf sat already a great attention to the next generation. The men's team included at the beginning of a few players from Möllersdorf, therefore, played in the 1968 Player of the UKJ Vienna - country for Möllersdorf. The first Lower Austrian league title story reached the boys ( U12 ) 1971. During the same year they finished the game with Community UKJ Vienna country. 1973 abolished the men's team move up to the first class. Möllersdorf achieved this year a great success in youth, the club reached in five age groups in which he took part, four league titles. 1977 moved to Möllersdorf in the new hall of the local secondary school. A year later UKJ Möllersdorf was national champion and rose to the B league. It was only a short-term success, because a season later they descended again. In 1979, the men were for the first time in the semifinals of the Cupbewerbs, and the second men's team was relegated in the same season in the first class.

1980s and 1990s

In 1982, the men were again national champions but failed due to the rise of games for the B league. 1982 also a partner club with the neighbors from Tribuswinkel was founded, who called himself UBMT ( connection between UKJ Möllersdorf and UBB Tribuswinkel ). In the 1982/83 season was the club national champion and took a vacant place in the A- League to complete. Thus, the club had from this season an A- League team, without ever having won the B league, which is unique for the Austrian Bundesliga. As a player, coach functioned from 1983 Franz Graf. In the same season, the Junior ( U18) won the first national title in the history of UKJ Möllersdorf. For the A - League team, the first Legionnaire Club history was committed with Phil Wagner. Trainer was Michael Sturmayr, with the UBMT in the next season (1986 /87) finished in 5th place in the Bundesliga, the best placement of the story. In 1991, UKJ Möllersdorf Master of the A- League, instrumental in this success was the signing Oto Maticky. A year later, Lucas Hajda returned to Möllersdorf, which rose to the top performers of the team and was able to celebrate the runner-up title with the team. Pastor Friedrich Tscherney was replaced as chairman, new chairman was low Helmut Hofer, who holds the office until today. In the championship, the team reached the runner-up title, the juniors were state champions. The following year, the team was again runner-up and Cupfinalist. 2000-2010

In the season 1999/ 00 the new hall, the Lions Dome was opened, the name UKJ Möllersdorf was changed. Since 2010

In their most successful season since the league title in 2000, the team's 2010/11 reached the 3rd place and missed the finals in the fifth game of the semifinal series against the eventual champion Oberwart scarce. Instrumental in this success was Season MVP Fabrcio Vay. In the following season it could not build on the success of previous years and therefore not reached the first time since the season 2006/ 07, the upper playoff due to austerity measures.

The Lions are the only team that has come directly from the provincial league to the Bundesliga without playing in the 2nd Bundesliga. Venue

The Lions Dome is located in Traiskirchen and basketball court and gym for the elementary school at the same time. It holds about 1,200 spectators and is in the middle by a retractable wall into two parts separated. The Arkadia Traiskirchen Lions play in it since 1999. Junior teams

Since the founding of the Association to promote the youth teams playing a major role.
