Arkane Studios

Arkane Studios is a French video game developer team, which was founded in Lyon in 1999 by Raphael Colantonio. Since 2006, an office in Austin (Texas ) exists.

History

The first published game of the studio was the 3D RPG Arx Fatalis, which was released in 2002 for the PC and later for the Xbox. Misplaced it has been done by the Austrian publisher JoWooD.

The next match of Arkane Studios was Dark Messiah of Might and Magic and was released in late 2006 on Ubisoft. More than a year later the game under the title Dark Messiah of Might and Magic was: Elements released for the Xbox 360. The studio tried then to an innovative game concept which was to bring together single player and multiplayer aspects. The announced under the name The Crossing had to be adjusted, however, by financing difficulties.

In July 2009 it was announced that the Arkane Studios for 2K Games were complicit in the development of BioShock 2. The company was acquired by ZeniMax Media in August 2010. In July 2011, Arkane Studios Dishonored announced with a action game with role-playing aspects.
