The Armenian calendar ( Old Armenian era ) is a subspecies of the Egyptian calendar. Its introduction is related to the separation of the Armenian Apostolic church of the Roman Empire Church. The annual numbers are written with one to four letters of the Armenian alphabet, preceded by " ԹՎ " for թվին ( t'vin = year).
