Arne Birkenstock
Arne Birkenstock ( born December 7, 1967 in Siegen) is a German writer and director.
Life
Arne Birkenstock studied economics, politics, history and romance languages in Cologne, Buenos Aires, Córdoba and realized during his studies first television documentaries for the transmission lines under German roofs (ARD) and humans up close. Arne Birkenstocks books on tango and Latin music are among the standard works in German language. The book about the Tango is published by Arbeiderspers also in Dutch. He organized several symposia on cultural policy in his hometown of Cologne. Arne Birkenstock has been and is active as a speaker, consultant and as a jury member for various film schools, funding institutions and festivals. Arne Birkenstock is married, lives in Cologne and has two children. He is the eldest son of the Cologne defense lawyer Reinhard Birkenstock and grandson of aviation pioneer Hans Jacobs. In addition to professional Birkenstock plays in the Kölsch dialect band Schmackes accordion.
