Arno (singer)

Arno ( born May 21, 1949 in Ostend; actually Arno Hintjens ) is a Belgian singer and musician.

Life

Arno started his musical career in the early 1970s in Ostend ( Belgium). He was successively a member of the formations Freckle Face, Tjens Couter and TC Matic. Since 1986 he is active as a solo artist. In addition to original compositions, especially in French and English, partly in Flemish, he took on numerous French chansons. He also composed the music for numerous films. Due to his rough voice and the musical relationship he has been referred to as " Belgian Tom Waits ".

2007 played Arno and Alain Bashung in the film J'ai toujours d'être un gangster rêvé of Samuel Benchetrit in the third story once successful singer who travel around the province and meet random. Over coffee, they talk about the world and their lives and try to hide their loss of importance of each other.
