Arthur C. Clarke Award

The Arthur C. Clarke Award is a 1987 by Arthur C. Clarke, with the aim to promote science fiction in the UK, launched the called and sponsored literary award. It is awarded annually to the best in the previous year for the first time in the UK published science fiction novel, and is considered most prestigious British science-fiction literature prize.

The list of eligible works is reduced in advance to six finalists. The winner will be chosen by a jury from these finalists. The annually changing jury is made up of fans, critics and recognized authors. The date specified in the award corresponds to the year in which the prize was awarded.

As Price Arthur C. Clarke had originally awarded £ 1,000. Since 2001, the year is paid in British pounds.
