Arthur Ornitz
Arthur J. Ornitz ( born November 28, 1916 in New York City, New York, † July 10, 1985 ) was an American cinematographer.
Life
Arthur J. Ornitz, son of screenwriter and novelist Samuel Ornitz, graduated from the University of California and began as a cameraman for documentaries his work in film. The military service during World War 2 in Europe Ornitz made from, remained there after his release and was active as a cameraman in Denmark and Norway. After his return to the United States Ornitz shunned the Hollywood studio, and worked with experimental film projects. Later he took the photograph in films by directors William Friedkin and John Cassavetes. In addition to his theater work Ornitz worked as a cinematographer and director for television.
