Arthur Wear

Arthur Yancey Wear ( born March 1, 1880 in St. Louis, Missouri, † November 6, 1918 in Pouilly, France) was an American tennis player.

At the Summer Olympics in 1904 in his hometown of St. Louis Arthur Wear won together with his compatriot Clarence Gamble in tennis men's doubles bronze medal after they were the later Olympic champions Edgar Leonard and Beals Wright defeated in the semi-finals with 1:6 and 2:6. His older brother Joseph also took third place.

Artur Wear was mortally wounded as a soldier in World War I and died in France.
