Arthur Weiss

Arthur White ( born June 13, 1912 in New York City, New York, † August 26 1980 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American screenwriter and television producer. He was known primarily for his work on film productions in the adventure and family movie like pinball, Safari hell, underwater around the world and Namu, the Raubwal.

Life and career

Arthur Weiss was born in 1912 in New York City. Weiss has written since the early 1950s screenplays for the U.S. television and cinema. Weiss worked several times with director and producer Ivan Tors, among others, whose adventure film productions in the 1960s that the focus moved as protagonists marine mammals such as dolphin or killer whale as in Pinball 1963 Namu, the Raubwal 1966. Moreover, he wrote for the film and television producer Irwin Allen numerous scripts for the series and TV movies.

So emerged in about 25 years, numerous screenplays for episodes of well-known television series such as Chevron Theatre ( 1952), Science Fiction Theatre ( 1955-1956 ), West of Santa Fe (1958), Sea Hunt ( 1958-1961 ), jump out of the clouds ( 1961-1962), the Fugitive (1963-1965), the television series Flipper (1965-1966), Daktari (1966 ), the Seaview - secret Mission ( 1967-1968 ), Mannix ( 1968-1974 ), Cobra assume, you (1970-1972) or emergency California ( 1973-1974 ).

Besides his work as a screenwriter for television and the cinema, he also produced several episodes of the television series The Fugitive and two TV movies in the 1970s under his own responsibility. In 1969 he wrote the novel O'Kelly 's Eclipse, which was released by Cassell in London.

Arthur Weiss was married to actress Fay Baker 1940 until 1965. Later he married Patricia Jones. Weiss died on 26 August 1980 at the age of 68 in Los Angeles in the state of California.
