Arthur Yap (politician)

Arthur Cua Yap ( born November 10, 1965 in Manila ) is a Filipino politician.

Biography

After visiting the Xavier School, he studied from 1983 to 1987 Management and Economics at the Ateneo de Manila University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts ( AB Management and Economics ) from. He then completed a post -graduate degree in law and ended this in 1991 with the degree of Juris Doctor ( JD). He has since been a member of the alumni association of his alma mater ( Ateneo de Manila University Alumni Association ).

After his admission to the bar he worked as a lawyer in the law firm ( Law Office ) Balane, Barican, Cruz & Alampay and then from 1992 to 1995 worked at the law firm Azcuna, Yorac, Sarmiento, Arroyo & Chua. Since that time, he is also a member of the Philippine Bar Association (Integrated Bar of the Philippines ) and the American Society of International Law (American Society of International Law ) and the Society for the Philippine Constitution ( Philippine Constitutional Association Inc. ).

Between 1997 and 1999 he was president of the Association of producers colors ( Philippine Association of Paint Manufacturers ) and was one of the founders of the law firm Yap, Jacinto & Jacob Law Office, for which he worked until 2001 1998. He then went in August 2001 in the private sector and was initially to September 2001, President and Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of the Philippine International Trading Corp.. and then at the Food Terminal Inc. from November 2002 to August 2004 Chairman of the Board.

At the same time he was from October 2002 to August 2004 Head of the National Food Administration ( National Food Authority). As such, he was at the same time from February to August 2004, Secretary of State for Affairs of Luzon in the Ministry of Agriculture.

On 9 July 2004 he was appointed by President Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo finally even Minister of Agriculture ( Secretary of Agriculture ) in their cabinet. After a cabinet reshuffle, he was between 2005 and 2006 short-term General of the Präsidialstabes for Management ( Head of the Presidential Management Staff ), before he is Agriculture Minister again since 2006.
