Artsakh

Artsakh (Armenian Արցախ, scientific transliteration Arc̕ax, English transliteration Artsakh; Russian Арцах ) was a province of the Armenian Empire in the first and second centuries BC. In 2006, Armenian archaeologists found in Agdam on the remains of a city in which it is to concern the the Great founded at this time of Tigran Tigranakert (not to be confused with the same name, later Martyropolis mentioned city in southeastern Turkey today ). According to Azerbaijani historians, it was in Artsakh contrast to a province of the " Caucasian Albania", which is regarded as one of the historical predecessor of today's Azerbaijan.
