Arturo Antonio Szymanski Ramírez

Arturo Antonio Szymanski Ramírez ( born January 17, 1922 in Tampico ) is Archbishop Emeritus of San Luis Potosí and participants in all sessions of the Second Vatican Council.

Life

Arturo Antonio Szymanski Ramírez received on 22 March 1947, the ordination. Pope John XXIII. appointed him on 20 April 1960 Titular Bishop of Cerasus and Coadjutor Bishop of San Andrés Tuxtla.

The Bishop of Ciudad Victoria Tamaulipas, Ernesto Corripio y Ahumada, donated to him on 21 June of the same year the episcopal ordination. After the death of Jesus Villareal y Fierro he carried this on March 21, 1965 as Bishop of San Andrés Tuxtla after.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 13 August 1968 Bishop of Tampico. On January 27, 1987, he was appointed bishop of San Luis Potosí. After the survey of the archdiocese, he was on November 5th of the next year, the first Archbishop of San Luis Potosí. On January 20, 1999 Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation due to age.
