Roman Catholic Diocese of Tampico

The Diocese of Tampico (Latin: Dioecesis Tampicensis, Spanish: diócesis de Tampico ) is a location in Mexico Roman Catholic diocese based in Tampico.

History

The Diocese of Tampico was born on August 13, 1861 by Pope Pius IX. built with the Papal bull Ad futuram rei memoriam of cessions of territory of the Diocese of Nueva León Linares o as Apostolic Vicariate of Tamaulipas.

On March 12, 1870, the Apostolic Vicariate of Tamaulipas was by Pius IX. charged with the Papal Bull Apostolica in universas to the diocese and renamed the Diocese of Ciudad Victoria Tamaulipas. The Diocese of Ciudad Victoria Tamaulipas has been the Archdiocese of Monterrey is a suffragan. On November 24, 1922, the Diocese of Ciudad Victoria Tamaulipas were parts of its territory from the foundation of the Diocese of Papantla.
