Roman Catholic Diocese of Chilpancingo-Chilapa

The Diocese of Chilpancingo - Chilapa (Latin: Dioecesis Chilapenis ) belongs to the Diocese of Ciudad Altamirano dioceses and diocesan Tlapa to the Roman Catholic Church Province of Acapulco in the Mexican state of Guerrero. It was on March 16, 1863 built as a diocese Chilapa from the territory of the old dioceses Archdiocese of Michoacan, Mexico archdiocese and diocese of Tlaxcala. On March 18, 1958, the Diocese of Acapulco was carved out of the territory of the diocese. Other territories were ceded to the newly founded on October 27, 1964 Diocese of Ciudad Altamirano.
