Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Acapulco

The Archdiocese of Acapulco (Latin: Archidioecesis Acapulcanus, Spanish: Arquidiócesis de Acapulco) is a location in Mexico Roman Catholic archdiocese headquartered in Acapulco.

History

The Archdiocese of Acapulco was posted on March 18, 1958 by Pope Pius XII. built with the Apostolic Constitution Quo aptiori of cessions of territory of the diocese Chilapa as Acapulco diocese and the Archdiocese of Mexico, is a suffragan. On October 27, 1964, the Diocese of Acapulco was part of its territory from the foundation of the built with the Apostolic Constitution Popolo Dei Diocese of Ciudad Altamirano.

On 10 February 1983, the Diocese of Acapulco was elevated by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Quo maius to an archbishopric.
