Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Xalapa

The Archdiocese of Jalapa (Latin: Archidioecesis Ialapensis, Spanish: Arquidiócesis de Jalapa ) is a location in Mexico Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Xalapa.

History

The Archdiocese of Jalapa was born on March 19, 1863 by Pope Pius IX. built out of territory of the dioceses Antequera and Tlaxcala as Diocese of Veracruz- Jalapa and the Archdiocese of Mexico City is a suffragan. On November 24, 1922, the Diocese of Veracruz- Jalapa were parts of its territory from the foundation of the built with the Apostolic Constitution Orbis Catholici Diocese of Papantla.

The Diocese of Veracruz- Jalapa was posted on June 29, 1951 by Pope Pius XII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Inter praecipuas to an archbishopric. On May 23, 1959, the Archdiocese of Veracruz- Jalapa were parts of its territory from the foundation of the built with the Apostolic Constitution Quibus Christianized Diocese of San Andrés Tuxtla. The Archdiocese of Veracruz- Jalapa was renamed on June 9, 1962 in Archdiocese of Jalapa. On 15 April 2000, the Archdiocese of Jalapa were from parts of its territory to the foundation of built by the Apostolic Constitution Nostrum Ministry Diocese of Córdoba and the founding of the built with the Apostolic Constitution adiutorium ferre Diocese of Orizaba.
