Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hermosillo

The Archdiocese of Hermosillo (Latin: Archidioecesis Hermosillensis, Spanish: Arquidiócesis de Hermosillo ) is a location in Mexico Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Hermosillo.

History

The Archdiocese of Hermosillo was on May 7, 1779, Pope Pius VI. built out of territory of the Diocese of Durango as Diocese of Sonora and the Archdiocese of Mexico City is a suffragan. On April 27, 1840, the Diocese of Sonora were parts of its territory to the foundation of the diocese from two California's. The Diocese of Sonora was placed under the Archdiocese of Guadalajara, suffragan on 23 June 1863. On 24 May 1883, the Diocese of Sonora were parts of its territory from the foundation of the Diocese of Sinaloa. The Diocese of Sonora was founded on June 23, 1891 by Pope Leo XIII. in primis the Archdiocese of Durango assumed the Papal Bull illud suffragan. On 20 June 1959, the Diocese of Sonora were parts of its territory from the foundation of the built with the Apostolic Constitution Cum petiisset Diocese of Ciudad Obregón. The Diocese of Sonora was renamed on 1 September 1959 in the diocese of Hermosillo.

On 13 July 1963, the Diocese of Hermosillo by Pope Paul VI was. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Mexicana national to an archbishopric.
