The Arvidsjaur Airport is a Swedish airport near the town of Arvidsjaur in Lapland. He is approached, especially in winter. Many European car manufacturers fly its test driver then to the Arctic Circle to test new cars.

Airlines and destinations

Nextjet twice daily to Stockholm via Lycksele. The FlyCar flies in winter from November to April from Stuttgart, Munich, Hanover and Frankfurt -Hahn.

Air Berlin also flew a few years several times a week from Hanover to Arvidsjaur. As part of the austerity measures that connection is now set. In the winter timetable 2011/2012 Austrian Airlines offered a connection from Vienna to Arvidsjaur over Stuttgart and Hannover for FlyCar. Flown this was an Airbus A321. In the winter timetable 2012/2013 this route was operated again, but not from Stuttgart and from Vienna.

Approach

The airport is a few kilometers outside the city.

Extension

The extension of the runway to 2,500 m with EU assistance has been completed. Currently two more shelves in addition to the main apron ( Apron ) built. One in the east ( Apron C) and one in the north ( Apron B). The taxiways ( Taxiway ) are to be configured and built shortly.
