Aryeh Deri

Aryeh Deri (Hebrew אריה דרעי; born February 17, 1959 in Meknes, Morocco) is an Israeli politician, former Prime Minister and party leader of Shas. He was Minister of the Interior from 1988 to 1993. When Yitzhak Rabin short of 11 May took over the Interior Ministry until June 7, 1993 Deri remained as Minister without portfolio in the government and then returned to his old post back, he held until his retirement from the 25th Government on 14 held September 1993.

First political career

Deris family emigrated in 1968 to Israel, where ultra-Orthodox yeshiva he attended one in Hadera and later in Jerusalem, which he, however, left to attention in the 1980s politics.
