AS Beauvais Oise

The Association Sportive Beauvais Oise ( or shortly ASBO ) is a French football club based in Beauvais, the capital of Picardy Oise département.

The club was established in 1945 under the name AS Beauvais- Marissel by the merger of the Veloce Club Beauvaisien, who already in 1900 had a football department, and the Union Sportive de Voisinlieu. 1986 named the club in Beauvais to 1989 he took by adding the department name to its present name.

The club colors are red and white; league team plays at the Stade Pierre- Brisson, which has a capacity of 10,480 seats.

League membership

From 1986 to 2004, the ASBO had a professional statute was represented between 1985 and 1998 with a one-year break in the second division, but never in Division 1 (since 2002 called Ligue 1 ). 2012, is the club in the CFA, the fourth highest league, relegated in which it competes also 2013/14.

Achievements

In the 1988/89 season Beauvais reached after victories over the first division club Le Havre AC, Girondins Bordeaux and Caen the quarterfinals in the French Cup and first had to bow to the AJ Auxerre. The revenue from these games saved the club from imminent bankruptcy.
