AS Cimentul Fieni

CIMENTUL Fieni was a Romanian football club from Fieni, Dâmboviţa county. It was founded in 1936 and played six years in the second Romanian football league, the Divizia B. In the seasons 1998/99 and 2001/ 02 he was in the second round by the Romanian Cup. In 2005, he broke up.

History

CIMENTUL Fieni was founded in 1936 and is named after the local cement factory. The club played almost four decades in the regional leagues before him in 1973, the rise in the third Romanian football league that Divizia C, succeeded. There he could be placed in the following years in the midfield his squadron or fought to the end for the league whereabouts. In the season 1991/92 CIMENTUL could first engage in the battle for promotion to the Divizia B, but was beaten almost to the competitors Metalul Plopeni and AS Poiana Campina.

After the club finished the 1996/97 season in second place behind AS Midia Năvodari, he succeeded in 1998 by six points on Petrolul Brăila the leap into Divizia B. There CIMENTUL had nothing to do with the relegation battle and ended the season in 1998 / 99 behind FC Brasov and Bucharest Rocar on the third rank of the Season 1 in the same season, the team sat in the first round to the Romanian first division side FC Arges Pitesti Cup by 1-0, but lost in the second round to the eventual finalists Rapid Bucharest 0-3.

The following two years CIMENTUL fought to avoid relegation. In the season 2000/ 01 the club was relegated sporty and secured the relegation fact that he bought from the Premier League rivals Metrom Braşov the license. Only in the 2001/ 02 season, the club was able to free from the lower regions of the table and achieved second place behind AEK Bucharest, the best result in the club's history. Thus, the team which qualified for the play-offs for promotion to the Divizia A, but this missed by two defeats against first division side Sportul Studenţesc. As already three years before the club moved in this season, a first knockout round to the Romanian Cup. This time he had turned in the first round first division side FC Universitatea Craiova in the penalty shoot-out, before he succumbed to Piatra Neamt Ceahlăul 0:1.

After this success CIMENTUL fought in the season 2002 /03 to the relegation, the on the final day succeeded. The ensuing season ended the club second from bottom of season 2 and had to descend into the Divizia C. The resurgence has been missed in the 2004/05 season with a fourth place. Subsequently, the club merged with a division club team from Buftea to CS Buftea and disintegrated by it.
