The Aschentalshalbe in the Harz mountain range is a maximum of about 685 m above sea level. NN high mountain ridge near Sieber in the unincorporated area of the county resin Osterode am Harz in Lower Saxony.

Name

The Aschentalshalbe was after Aschental, a southern tributary valley of the Tiefenbeekstals in which the Tiefenbeek flows, named.

Geography

Location

The Aschentalshalbe is located in the Upper Harz Harz nature park about 2 km southeast of screener, a northeastern suburb of Herzberg am Harz. It rises between the Gropenbornskopf in the north, the Koboltstaler heads in the east-northeast with the offshoots Gödeckenkopf the east, the Schadenbeeksköpfen to the southeast, the evil mountain in the south, the Great tubers in the south-southwest, the Pagelsburg in the southwest, the Eagle Mountain to the west and Breitentalskopf in northwest.

Watershed

About the Aschentalshalbe the watershed between the screener in the north extends to the west and the Oder in the east to south: While the north of the mountain springing Tiefenbeek flows northwestward of Sieber, is the springing on its southern highlands of degrees Lutter the right source Bach of Lutterworth, the southward flows into the Oder.

Peaks and measuring points

The Aschentalshalbe has several peaks:

  • The western summit, also known as High field is 667 m high. From there is a look at Sieber.
  • The two main studs, approximately centrally located on the mountain ridge, the highest peak in each of about 685 m.
  • The Ostnordostkuppe is about 640 m high. A little south-east of this is recorded on topographic maps, a measurement point ( 627 m). From there, and just east of it are the refuge ( see paragraph Hiking ) drops the view towards the south.

Hiking

The Harzklub Trail 15 G runs over the Aschentalshalbe, lead by the several trails to the aforementioned neighboring mountains. Approximately 1.25 km east-northeast of the mountain and about 1 km north of the Northwest tip of the near Schadenbeeksköpfe stands near the Ostkuppe the Aschentalshalbe a shelter with the stamp location in the system Schadenbeeksköpfe the Harz hiking pin.
