AsiaSat 2

AsiaSat 2 was a communications satellite of Asia Satellite Telecommunications Company Limited ( AsiaSat short ) from Hong Kong.

The satellite was launched from the Baikonur march Xichang LA -2 from November 28, 1995 at 11:30:05 GMT with a Chinese launcher Long 2E with FG -46 upper stage. This was also the first flight of the FG -46 upper stage. The start was planned in 1994, but was postponed due to an error in the Telstar 402 satellite ( based on the same satellite bus ). After the launch of AsiaSat 5 of these will complement the satellite or from 2011 when AsiaSat 2 has reached the end of its service life, replace it.

The satellite was built by Lockheed Martin Astro Space based on the AS -7000 satellite bus ' and supplied to Asia (especially China and neighboring countries ) with television and radio programs.
