Association of Senones Country communes
The Communauté de communes du Pays de Senones is a municipal merger ( Communauté de communes ) of 13 municipalities in the department of Vosges in Lorraine.
The Local Government Association, founded on 18 June 1998, has 8,988 inhabitants (2008) to 145.89 km ², which corresponds to a population density of 62 inhabitants per km ². Seat of the Association is the community Senones, president of the local association Jean Luc Beverina who officiates also as Mayor of Senones.
The Communauté de communes du Pays de Senones is located in the western Vosges mountains in the south-east of Lorraine. All member municipalities belong to the Canton Senones. Five other municipalities in the canton Senones had joined together in 1992 to the Local Government Association Vallée du whore. The entire area of the municipality Association Pays de Senones is drained by the Rabodeau and its tributaries. The Meurthe forms the western border of the crest of the Vosges Mountains, the eastern border of the association's territory. With 938 meters above sea level in the north- east of the district Moussey the highest point is reached. The Col du Hantz (641 m ) leads to the Alsatian Breuschtal. 76 % of the area of the association are wooded.
The Local Government Association was created to combine the material resources of the community and to coordinate economic development. To the field of the Association of Local Authorities include spatial planning and economic development. The Communauté de communes du Pays de Senones has further set itself the goal to promote tourism ( creation and maintenance of hiking trails, mountain bike trails and cross-country skiing ) as well as in the fields of environmental protection (renovation and restoration of water bodies, restoration of grazing and fruit cultivation areas, waste management), cultural sports and educational facilities and social policy ( work closely with other child care). In addition, the aim is the preservation of the cultural heritage with funds to promote ( rehabilitation of wells, crucifixes, wayside crosses, chapels and Lavoirs ).
