Association of Vologne Valley communes
The Communauté de communes de la Vallée de la Vologne is a municipal merger ( Communauté de communes ) of 18 municipalities in the department of Vosges in Lorraine.
The Local Government Association has 10,838 inhabitants (2006) to 110.63 km ², which is / corresponds to a population density of 98 inhabitants km ².
Seat of the association is the small town of Bruyeres. All member communities are, with the exception of Charmois -devant- Bruyeres on the middle and lower reaches of the Vologne, a Mosel- inflow in the Vosges or on one of the tributaries of the Vologne. President of the Association of Local Authorities is André Claudel, who officiated as mayor of Lépanges -sur- Vologne.
The Local Government Association was founded on 30 December 2002 in order to concentrate the material resources of the community and to coordinate economic development.
To the field of the local association includes regional planning as well as the cross-community business and tourism development. The Communauté de communes de la Vallée de la Vologne has also set a goal to work closely in the fields of culture and communication, and quality of living.
