Astar Air Cargo

Astar Air Cargo was an American cargo airline based in Miami, Florida.

History

Astar Air Cargo was founded in 1969 and still resulted in the same year by its first flights. In 1983, the airline was renamed DHL Airways and expanded greatly. At this time, Lufthansa acquired a 5 % stake in the airline, 1992, increased its share to 25 % on. 1998 again took over the German Post AG 22.5 %, and this proportion increased continuously until 2002, finally had 100 % of the airline. In July 2003, the airline was sold to an American investor group zurückbenannte DHL Airways on 30 June 2003 back to Astar Air Cargo.

Last employs Astar Air Cargo approximately 1000 employees and operated from its hub Louisville International Airport in Kentucky, 31 national and 20 international connections. The biggest customers were DHL Aviation and the U.S. Air Force. After the expiry of the contract with DHL June 1, 2012 Astar Air Cargo ceased flight operations.
