At the Drive-In

At the Drive - In is an American post-hardcore band. It was founded in the spring of 1993 in El Paso, Texas, but played in their final occupation only together since 1997. 2001 broke up the band. 2012, the band was refounded.

Band History

The first EP, Hell Paso At The Drive - In was released in November 1994 on the band's own label Western Breed. The following month, the band went on their first tour of Texas. She played at a concert in front of a nine -member audience and their EP could be purchased at a price of $ 1.50. Today, this EP is traded on eBay for $ 150 and more. Once a member of the band has been replaced, they released their second single in June 1995 Alfaro Vive, Carajo! . Shortly after, the band went for 42 days to major U.S. tour. On this tour, they were discovered by the label Flipside, which gave them the opportunity to record their first album Acrobatic Tenement (1996 ) in Los Angeles.

Already at the At-the -Drive -In times played the band members in various side projects. Cedric Bixler and Omar Rodriguez played together with Jeremy Ward, the cousin of Jim Ward and Ikey Owens since 1997 in the band De Facto. This band even managed to tour Europe and the United States. In 1999 and 2000 toured At the Drive - In, inter alia, by Germany. Following the tour in 2000, the band experienced with the album Relationship of Command the final commercial break. Even the mainstream press has now been aware of the band. The album was praised by fans and critics alike. In February 2001, At the Drive- In broke up after they had interrupted their world tour in the spring, and the group split into two bands Sparta and The Mars Volta.

The band explained on 9 January 2012, the reunification. Except for a few shows but hardly anything happened to the band. Due to the dispute between Rodriguez -Lopez and Bixler - Zavala further appearances are also considered unlikely.
