The Atlantic City International Airport is the airport of the city of Atlantic City in the U.S. state of New Jersey.

History

The airport was opened in 1942 as a base of the United States Navy to be leased by the City of Atlantic City land. 1958 the federal government bought the airport as a testing ground for the newly created Federal Aviation Agency (FAA ), an 84 acre area on which there is the reception building since the 1960s, remained in the possession of the city.

On October 29, 1978 Allegheny Airlines took first on regular flights from Atlantic City from. In 1992, the South Jersey Transportation Authority ( SJTA ) the terminal building of the city, they took it also agreed in 1958 between the city and the federal government buy-back rights. In 1998, the SJTA the operational control of the airport from the FAA.

Operation

The Atlantic City International Airport is used mainly by low cost airlines. There are direct connections to destinations within the United States. The FAA operates the airport, the William J.
