Attitude is the fifth studio album by the Norwegian thrash metal band Susperia. It was released on 18 May 2009 through Candlelight Records.

Formation

After the previous album Cut from Stone was recorded under stressful conditions, the musicians took more time for the album Attitude. In summer 2008, the band moved back to the cabin in the woods of bassist Memnock ( civil Håkon Didriksen ) and without distraction could work on the new material. The album Unlimited in 2004 originated in a similar manner. Originally, the album Speaking Killing Words should be called.

The drums and the vocals were recorded in the studio Cyrus in October and November 2008 in the beach studio in Oslo, the guitars and the bass in December 2008. The album was produced by the band itself. Mixed Attitude was by Henrik Udd and Fredrik Nordström, the mastering done by Tim Turan. (" Sick Bastard" bourgeois Stian Thoresen Tomt ) Guest musicians on the Testament singer Chuck Billy ( "Live My Dreams " ) and Dimmu Borgir vocalist Shagrath - occurred. Billy was already involved on the previous album Cut from Stone, which did not work out for reasons of timing. Shagrath, however, is friends with the musicians of Susperia and was a regular in-studio guest, as Athera (born Pål Mathiesen ) recorded his vocals.

Besides, located Susperia separated from their previous label Tabu Recordings. The company was bought out by a large group, so many employees were laid off. According Memnock were from employees who had Susperia then contracted, none have been more since. In February 2009 the band by Candlelight Records was signed, which had previously sold the albums from Susperia in the USA.

For the reviewers Jens online magazine Metal.de Attitude is an " impressive album ." It was " energetic, honest and simply the Thrash surprise of the year ", but criticized the short playing time of almost 37 minutes. He forgave nine out of ten. Enrico Ahlig by the online magazine Attitude Powermetal.de designated as a " highly recommended album for metal fans of all stripes " and awarded a 8.5 out of ten. Disappointed showed, however, Larry Owens from the online magazine Teeth of the Divine, who criticized the clear vocals of Athera and "boring, repetitive guitar riffs ."
