Audra Lindley

Audra Marie Lindley (* September 24, 1918 in Los Angeles, † October 16, 1997 ibid ) was an American film, theater and television actress.

Life

Audra Lindlay was born in Los Angeles. Even her parents were both active in the field of show business and so began her career in Hollywood at a young age. When she was in her mid twenties, she moved to New York City, where she was working as an actress in theater and appeared in many Broadway performances. Then she took her first time out, to marry and to found a family. When she resumed her acting profession, she played mainly in television series, mostly sitcoms and soap opers. Private

Lindlay died on 16 October 1997 at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on a leukemia.

From 1943 to 1960 she was married to Hardy Ulm, with whom she had five children. In 1972, she married her fellow actor James Whitmore, from which they had in 1979 also divorced.
