Augsburg–Buchloe railway

The railway Augsburg- Buchloe is a two-track, non-electrified main line in Bavaria. It runs from Augsburg to Buchloe. Other major towns on the route are Bobingen and Schwabmunchen.

History

The route was established in the course of the Ludwig South - North Railway from Lindau via Kempten, Augsburg and Nuremberg to Hof. On September 1, 1847, the 60.2 km long line was opened from Augsburg Central Station via Bobingen and Buchloe to Kaufbeuren based on a Bavarian law of August 25, 1843, the 20.3 km long section Buchloe - Kaufbeuren today belongs to the Bavarian Allgäu railway.

In the course of Augsburg version of the new and expanded Nuremberg -Munich was provided by the state of planning in 1989 to lead fast trains from Augsburg to Munich, first over the train track Augsburg- Buchloe to south of Inningen to there south in an arc to King Brunn and Merching over to wheel at Haspelmoor in the railway Augsburg- Munich.

Trains to Landsberg am Lech and Bad Wörishofen operate under the name Kneipp Lechfeld train of DB Regio Bayern. In Bobingen the Lechfeld path branches off to Landsberg am Lech.

Since December 2007, the regional rail clock is on the Augsburg-Bobingen/Schwabmünchen section set up. This fifteen-minute morning and evening connections are realized in the load directions as above.

Since December 2011 there are now all two hours fast connections from Augsburg Hbf to Kempten and back with tilt technology railcars of Class 612 These trains only stop in Buchloe and Kaufbeuren - the journey time is less than an hour. Some of these compounds are bound to and from Nuremberg Main Station (Allgäu franc Express).

Also every two hours operate railcar Class 642 to Memmingen. In Untertürkheim applicants they are separated and a railcar traveling to Bad Woerishofen ( Kneipp Lechfeld -Bahn ).

Future

The section Augsburg- Schwabmunchen to be part of the S -Bahn Augsburg.
