Ausburn Birdsall

Ausburn Birdsall ( born November 13, 1814 Otego, New York, † July 10, 1903 in New York City ) was an American lawyer and politician. Between 1847 and 1849 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Ausburn Birdsall was born during the British - American War in Otsego County. He studied law. After receiving his license to practice law, he began practicing in a private practice. He was district attorney in Broome County. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Party.

In the congressional elections of 1846 for the 30th Congress Birdsall was the 22nd electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Stephen Strong on March 4, 1847. He retired after March 3, 1849 from the Congress.

After his conference time he was Supply Supervisor in the U.S. Navy. He died on July 10, 1903 in New York City. His body was then buried in Spring Forest Cemetery in Binghamton, but in 1910 reburied in Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.
