Binghamton is a city in Broome County and its administration in the U.S. state of New York. Binghamton is located at the confluence of the Chenango River in the Susquehanna River and has 47 376 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Binghamton was founding place of IBM. Here is the Binghamton University. In Binghamton, the same high-end hi-fi equipment are produced in the McIntosh Labs.

On 3 April 2009 Binghamton hit the headlines when the building of the American Civic Association ( ACA) was the scene of a hostage crisis, in which 13 hostages and in the course of events, the 41 -year-old offenders were killed.
