Austrian State Prize for European Literature

The Austrian State Prize for European Literature is an internationally award price of the Republic of Austria, which was founded as a literary award from the Ministry of Education in 1964 under the name Nikolaus Lenau price. Since 1965, the award is called the Austrian State Prize for European Literature and is awarded annually to European writers. In the years 1969, 1979 and 1985 no award ceremony took place. The price is currently worth 25,000 euros.
