Avonbridge

Avonbridge is a village in the Scottish Falkirk Council Area. It lies on the eastern edge of Falkirk approximately eight kilometers south-east of Falkirk and 15 km west of Livingston on the River Avon. The name " Avonbridge " derives from an old bridge over the Avon from at this place. The village is connected through the streets B825 and B8028 to the road network, which intersect at Avonbridge. Not far from Avonbridge 's farm is Gowanbank, which is classified as a monument of the highest category A.

In the 19th century was in Avonside a primary school for 150 pupils. Its catchment area included the towns Muiravonside and slam Annan.
