Awa'uq Massacre

The massacre of Awa'uq (English Awa'uq Massacre ) was a mass murder of Russians at 500-2000 or 2500-3000 Sugpiaq ( The Konjagen or Kodiak Island Yupik ), the civilian population in Russian America, the August 14 1784 occurred.

On Alutiiq, the language of the local population, is called a surf pier on the Sitkalidak Iceland in the Kodiak Archipelago to today Awa'uq ( literal translation: silent or be stunned ).
