Axel Prahl

Axel Prahl ( born March 26, 1960 in Eutin ) is a German actor and musician.

Life

Axel Prahl grew up with his brother in Neustadt in Holstein. His mother was a shop assistant, the stepfather employed by the employment office.

At the age of 14 years Prahl took part in a music competition in his hometown, which he won, and thereby qualified for continuing at the country level. Because of his fear of success could change his life, but he refrained from then on attendance.

An education in a metal profession he broke off after one year. He lived as a street musician in Spain, took his diploma and studied for five semesters music and mathematics at the Pedagogical University of Kiel. Prahl, which dominates the guitar and Pat Metheny is one of his musical heroes played, as a teenager, also Irish Folk. Eventually he graduated from 1982 to 1985 studied acting in Kiel. 1984 Prahl started with theater games and soon he was at the Schleswig- Holstein State Theatre operates. Since 1992 he lives in Berlin. There followed engagements at the Renaissance Theater, the Grips Theater and at the intimate theater of the Deutsches Theater. Music and drama at that time ran parallel until Prahl opted for acting.

His television debut came in 1992 in Max Färberböck Sleeping Dogs. In 1992, he dubbed Michael Chiklis in an episode of Miami Vice. In Nachtgestalten, his first feature film, he played a supporting role in 1999 in a police officer. Since then, he was always busy in this role, as in The policewoman, Hope dies last, and the border guards and the girl. The film Nachtgestalten marks the beginning of a successful collaboration with director Andreas Dresen: For The policewoman, Half Steps and Willenbrock Prahl was with several acting awards, including awarded the Adolf Grimme Prize. Since 2002 he is a Chief Inspector Frank Thiel together with Jan Josef Liefers the investigators pair in Münster for the scene of the WDR. At the movie You're not alone contributed Prahl in 2007 with a new interpretation of the famous hit song also the theme song for. In the music video for the song If it happens the band Wir sind Helden he is seen as a commercial agent. Prahl and Andreas Dresen music together in a band without a name, which, amongst other cover versions of songs from Rio Reiser and Gerhard ivy in her repertoire.

On 27 February 2009, the audio book appeared Where the Wild maggots burrow by Thorsten Schmidt nail on the Prahl next to Farin Urlaub be heard as guest speaker. The audio book Northwestern spoke Prahl 2013.

Axel Prahl has three daughters and a son. He lives divorced from his second wife in Berlin.
