Azure Dragon

The Blue Dragon or ( chinese青龙/青龙, Pinyin Qīng Lóng ) is one of the four symbols of the Chinese constellations, which are also known as the "Miracle Pets ". It is also called " Blue Dragon of the East" and represents the spring and the East. He is not to be confused with the Yellow Dragon ( Huang long), which symbolizes the Chinese emperor.

The Blue Dragon was used not only by the Chinese but also by Vietnamese, Koreans and Japanese. In Japanese it is called Seiryu, in Korean Cheong- ryong ( 청룡 ) and Vietnamese Thanh Long.

The houses of the Blue Dragon

In Chinese astrology each of the four symbols include seven houses that reflect the specific positions of the moon in the sky. The houses of the Blue Dragons are:

  • Horn (角Jiao )
  • Neck (亢, Kang )
  • Root (氐, DI )
  • Space (房, catch)
  • Heart (心, xin )
  • Tail (尾, Wei)
  • Grain basket (箕, ji)
