Babette von Bülow

Clara Bertha Friederike " Babette " von Bulow, pseudonym Hans Arnold, born Eberty, ( born September 30, 1850 in Warmbrunn, Lower Silesia, † March 8, 1927 in Arendsee, today part of cooling Born, Mecklenburg- Vorpommern) was a German author of short stories, comedies and farces.

Life

She was the daughter of the lawyer and parliamentarian Felix Eberty (1812-1884), a professor at the University of Breslau, and born of Mary Hasse in Silesia and grew up in Breslau. She received her education in Breslau and in a French boarding school. On June 10, 1876 where he married the later Royal Prussian Lieutenant Colonel Adolf von Bülow ( born April 29, 1851 Good Dietrich Hagen at Warnemünde, † June 25, 1932 in Breitbrunn, today part of Herrsching am Ammersee ), the son of the landowner Herrmann Bülow (1820-1870), Lord of Dietrich Hagen, and Marie Erdmann ( 1830-1893 ).

Due to the military service of her husband she lived in different garrisons, including 1891 Passengers on the Rhine, 1893 in Hannover, 1896 in Erfurt, 1900 in Frankfurt ( Oder), 1902 in Potsdam and in 1905 again in Erfurt. She was personally acquainted with Theodor Fontane.
