Baharlu (ethnic group)

The Bahārlu or Baharlu (pers. بهارلو Baharloo ) are a Turkish-speaking ethnic group. 1932 Made this ethnic group in the official census in Iran ( Fars Province ) 8,000 families. Today they settle next to the Fars province in Azerbaijan, Kerman and the old Khorassan province.

History

According to J. Malcolm the Bahārlu were a tribe of Shamlu, who were resettled under Timur from Syria to Persia. Also Houtum A. Schindler noticed that the Bahārlu in Fars were generally known as Arabs and that could be related to their origin from Syria.

The Bahārlu belonged in the 15th century, the nomadic tribal confederation of Qara Qoyunlu and formed the leading stem. Later, they were dominated by the Qashqai and closed 1861/62 of the nomads Federation of Khamseh to. There they were identified a long time with the Nafar, as both tribes had long joint chiefs.
